I have no idea if these are any good for boxing, but I bought them to use as thermal mittens for running in cold weather, and found them excellent for that purpose, much cheaper than the products designed for that, and probably better because the outer covering is windproof. The padding is all on the outer punching side, so I cut a slit in the inner cloth lining near the wrist, and worked my whole hand in through that, and hollowed out spaces for my thumb and four fingers in the middle of the padding, which is loose enough to allow this, but firm enough to retain the hollows once they are formed. The only place air gets in is on the inside of the wrists where the lacing is. On super-cold days I put on an old sock first, with a hole for the thumb, and this inner layer covers the wrist also.
